Hillsborough AYSO Region 110

Registration for Fall

FALL 2026 SEASON

Registration is open!

Hillsborough AYSO is open to kids from everywhere! Children with special needs can sign up for our EPIC (Everyone Plays In our Community, formerly VIP) program.

Our season runs from late August through the end of October, with Hillsborough Cup play two weeks of November.

To register as a Player, please visit the Sports Connect portal.

FEES:

  • As an incentive for people to register early, we offer an Early Bird discount (reflected in checkout cart). Early Bird prices are good through May 31, 2026.
    • These prices include two additional, nonrefundable fees:
    • AYSO's annual national player fee of $25 and Sports Connect's $3.50 transaction fee:
             $303.50 for 5U (Jamboree) and 6U
             $353.50 for 8U and above
  • Prices increase June 1, 2025:
             $378.50 for 5U (Jamboree) and 6U:
             $428.50 for 8U and above
  • EPIC registration is $78.50

Registration will remain open until June 19 unless extended. Refunds (minus the $25 AYSO National Player Fee and the $3.50 processing fee) will be given through 6/19/2026. To request a refund on or before June 19, please email the registrar at hillsboroughregistrar@gmail.com.

Enrollment is first-come, first-served.  We try to accommodate all players, but enrollment may be limited by the availability of volunteer coaches.  Players may be placed on a waitlist until volunteer coaches become available. Since many divisions fill up fast, register early to avoid higher registration fees and reduce the possibility of being placed on the waitlist.

AYSO and U.S. Soccer have shifted to a school-year (August 1st) age grouping system for teams (previous to this year, AYSO used birth-year grouping). The registration system automatically places players in the correct division. See below for additional information.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Teammate requests - AYSO strives to form ‘balanced’ teams to provide a more robust learning experience for teams as they play teams comprised of similar abilities. Hillsborough AYSO is not able to consider teammate or coach requests when forming teams. Hillsborough AYSO does not take teammate or coach requests. The only way to guarantee your child is placed on a team with another player is to volunteer to coach or referee and pair up with another volunteer coach or referee. Each team is allowed three volunteers: coach, assistant coach, and referee. All coaching/referee pairings are subject to review to ensure we can meet the team balancing objective.

  • AYSO EPIC - The mission of the AYSO EPIC Program is to provide a quality soccer experience for individuals whose unique physical or mental abilities make it difficult to participate on mainstream soccer teams successfully. Successful participation is defined by the player's enjoyment and the safety of all team members.

Players new to Hillsborough AYSO must upload a scanned copy of their birth certificate, passport, or other government-issued ID showing date of birth. For the 2026 Fall season, this requirement is extended beyond new players to most players in our region; this is due to updates to AYSO's Sports Connect registration system.

We need:

Division Placement

AYSO is moving to a school-year age matrix with an August 1 cutoff to determine player divisions, aligning with U.S. Soccer and other major youth soccer organizations. A player’s division is now based on their age during the school-year timeframe of August 1 through July 31.

Requests for players to play in a higher (older) division or to play down in a lower (younger) division must be submitted to our Regional Commissioner, Greg Leonard, at [email protected].  Please note, players 10u and older may NOT play in a younger division. These requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please email this request and include justification.  Play-Up/Play-Down requests will be considered only if space is available in the requested age division.

Upper Division Conduct Policy

Players are required to demonstrate good sporting behavior at all AYSO events.  This includes practices as well as games.  In recent years we have seen a growing incidence of unacceptable conduct in the upper divisions, for example: use of profanity or epithets, taunting another team when Hillsborough is far ahead in score, and persistent disruption at practices.  To address this issue, the Hillsborough AYSO Board has approved the following measures which began with the Fall 2017 season.  These measures are intended to ensure that all AYSO participants have the chance to enjoy soccer in a positive sporting environment.

For the 16U and 19U divisions, draft team rosters will be subject to review and approval by a committee of the Hillsborough AYSO Board.  Players who have demonstrated recurrent unacceptable conduct will not be invited to play and will have their registration fees refunded.

For all 14U, 16U and 19U divisions, the following sanctions for unacceptable conduct will be implemented:

  • Coaches should remind players that participation in AYSO is a privilege, not an entitlement.
  • Any player who receives a yellow card related to unacceptable conduct will be required to sit a game before being allowed to play again.  To satisfy this requirement the player must attend one game and remain on the bench for the entire game.  Attendance must be noted by the referee on the game card.
  • Any player who receives a red card related to unacceptable conduct will be suspended immediately and not permitted to play unless approved by the Regional Commissioner.
  • Coaches are required to report persistently disruptive behavior or unacceptable conduct at practices to the Regional Commissioner.  The Regional Commissioner may suspend offending players.
